What are your favorite fish to catch? Why?

Brandon enjoys largemouth bass and shark fishing. “They both have such a ferocious fight and are both apex predators in their own right,” he reasoned.

Go-to fishing spots

Where are your go-to fishing spots?

Being a Texan angler, Brandon’s favorite fishing spots are Texas State Parks. Texas State Parks actually offer free fishing, and you can learn more about it here!

Live bait vs. artificial lure

Live bait or artificial lure? Why?

Brandon answered that he typically uses artificial lures when fishing. “I like to know that I have used that bait and sufficiently done so enough that it has fooled the fish into eating it,” he said. Brandon shared that he is not limited to artificial lures, however, and that he uses live bait when he goes shark fishing.

Best catches

Biggest or heaviest fish that you've caught?

Being a bass fishing and shark fishing enthusiast, Brandon shared some of his best bass and shark catches.

While the average largemouth bass can weigh between 1 to 5 pounds depending on its habitat and surroundings, Brandon’s largest bass catch weighed 6 pounds and 15 ounces!

His largest shark catch, on the other hand, was a four-and-a-half-foot blacktip shark. “I have even tagged a blacktip for research with Shark Ventures, ” Brandon added.

Fishing for a lifetime

How long have you been fishing?

Brandon remembered that he had been fishing ever since he was a little child around the age of four or five. “Fished with my grandfather all my life until he passed away a few years back,” he shared. In fact, he has even dedicated his YouTube channel to his grandfather, Gerald Brown.

With his channel, Brandon hopes for his own son and others to be able to understand, appreciate, and fully benefit from the natural world and all that it has to offer. “I hope all who come to this channel enjoy my videos encouragement or ideas will be accepted and appreciated,” he wrote on his channel.
