Favorite fish

What are your favorite fish to catch? Why?

Sean came up with a couple of favorites when asked about his favorite fish to catch. Sean loves to fish tarpons, snooks, cubera snappers, and Goliath groupers.

Go-to fishing spots

Where are your go-to fishing spots?

Sean didn't have a specific location in mind when asked about his favorite fishing sites. “My go-to fishing spot is wherever the bite is hot,” Sean told us.

Live bait vs. artificial lure

Live bait or artificial lure? Why?

When it comes to bait, Sean is a firm believer in #nolivebaitneeded! “I mostly use artificial because it challenges me as a fisherman to really map out the bottom and to memorize the structure,” Sean reasoned. He likes the challenge it presents — “And most importantly, because of the insane thumps,” Sean added.

“The adrenaline rush of every jump, every single yard that is pulled out of my spool a constant tug of war with the silver king of the ocean just makes my love and respect for these fish grow with every cast and every thump,” Sean wrote on this Instagram post as he poses with a silver king he caught.

Saltwater vs. freshwater

Saltwater or freshwater?

“It doesn’t matter to me,” Sean remarked. “I love chasing big fish in fresh and saltwater.”

Biggest catch

Biggest or heaviest fish that you've caught?

Sean has quite some impressive catches — his catch of a 44-inch snook came to mind when asked about the biggest fish he’s caught. The average length of a common snook is approximately 19 inches, while the largest of the species can grow to a maximum length of 55 inches!

In addition to that, though, Sean also recalled the time he reeled in an 80-pound tarpon. The weight of a tarpon can range from 60 to 280 pounds.
