The Flat Dangerous charter fishing boat, captained by George Gill, made a remarkable catch on its maiden voyage at sea: an 888-pound Bluefin Tuna.

The massive fish was reeled in 67 miles south of Destin by the boat's owner, Warren Williamson, and the six-man crew after a grueling 5.5-hour battle.

During the fight, the tuna died after becoming tail-wrapped, requiring the combined efforts of the entire team to winch it on board inch by inch.

The impressive catch was weighed in at Boshamps Seafood and Oyster Bar in Destin around 9 p.m., drawing a crowd of onlookers who witnessed the behemoth being hoisted onto the scales.

Although the catch does not qualify for state records due to multiple people being involved in reeling it in, Captain Gill noted that he had never seen a Bluefin Tuna of this size before, describing it as "just fat."

The meat from the tuna will be distributed among friends and family, with the remainder being donated to local groups.
