Ohioans Can Fish for Free on Father's Day Weekend

What is it? Why should you use it? Types of tshirt

Ohio's annual free fishing days return just in time for Father’s Day, allowing residents to fish in any public waterway without a license on June 15 and 16.

This promotion, announced by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), is the only weekend of the year when residents 16 and older can fish without purchasing a license.

Those under 16 can fish for free year-round without a license.

Governor Mike DeWine highlighted the opportunity for families to enjoy special outdoor moments together, while ODNR Director Mary Mertz encouraged residents to explore Ohio's rivers, lakes, and streams through various recreational activities.

The free fishing days aim to make fishing accessible to anglers of all ages and skill levels.
