Bradly Courtwright's trotline in Pine Creek Reservoir, Oklahoma, yielded a surprise catch when he hauled in a massive 95-pound flathead catfish.
The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation (ODWC) shared news of the impressive catch on their Facebook page, confirming that Courtwright's fish is the largest flathead ever landed in the reservoir.
While the giant flathead falls 11 pounds short of the state's unrestricted division record, set in 1977 at Wister Reservoir using a trotline, it eclipses the current rod and reel record by nearly 20 pounds.
Courtwright's achievement has generated excitement within the angling community and reinforced Pine Creek Reservoir's status as a top destination for trophy catfish.
The ODWC applauded Courtwright's remarkable feat, which highlights the potential for record-breaking catches in Oklahoma's waters.
